Clinical Nutrition

Concussion Care

Clinical nutrition focuses on the needs of the body with respect to both individual nutrients and as well as the overall balances of how the body utilizes those nutrients. Certified clinical nutritionists (CCN) and registered dietitians both specialize in dietary intake. The difference between these two rolls is founded in training and education, as well as the approach they take in providing a nutritional plan. While a dietitian focuses on meal planning, a clinical nutritionist focuses on biochemical factors that affect nutrition intake. A clinical nutritionist is specially trained to develop nutritional plans that may include supplements and guided detoxification.

Clinical nutrition can be used to address a number of physical conditions that affect various biological conditions. Issues that range from improper immune response, weight problems, skin conditions, lethargy, digestive ailments and many others can be addressed through clinical nutritional analysis and treatment.
